Mold Testing, Mold Removal Charlotte, NC
Salem Environmental, Inc. was founded in 1989 to provide underground storage tank (UST) management services to petroleum marketers in North Carolina. Since that time, Salem has provided environmental services on nearly 5,000 locations in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and West Virginia. Our clientele has grown to include residential and commercial Realtors®, as well as commercial, governmental, financial, and industrial clients. Our scope of services has expanded to provide project management for Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments and soil/groundwater remediation projects. Salem has been a licensee of the Perma-Fill™ inert foam closure process for UST’s since 1989 and has abandoned in-place approximately 3,500 residential and commercial tanks.
Our scope of services was again expanded in 2001 to include mold testing and remedial services. In the last three years, Salem has worked on over 500 residential, multi-family and commercial sites. Salem has the resources to handle your mold and moisture intrusion problem from discovery to completion. This includes in-house infrared camera imaging to detect water leakage.
Salem is also the exclusive distributor for CleanSealEP™, a revolutionary, totally “green” mold-retardant polymer, for the Charlotte Metro, Triad, Unifour and N. C. High country areas. Unlike other products, it leaves no sheen or residues, and can be safely applied to indoor walls and ceilings.
Whether your needs are the closure of a 550-gallon residential UST, a multi-acre Phase I industrial site or indoor air quality testing in a commercial setting, Salem provides prompt and affordable service that focuses on the client’s needs.
Experts estimate that over 10% of the general public suffers adverse respiratory effects from toxins produced by mold.
If you notice suspected fungal growth or sense that mold has made your house “sick”, Salem/MII will perform a site inspection at a reasonable price. This inspection consists of visual screening, delineation of ambient air and wood moisture levels, and collection of one mold sample with independent laboratory analysis of that sample to confirm potential concentrations and types of mold. Approximately 5 to 6 business days after sample collection, Salem/MII will submit a report in laymen’s terms to you summarizing the inspection results and, if necessary, any recommendations for abatement. Many times your mold problem can be solved by simple ventilation, HVAC filtration, HEPA cleaning, and dehumidification coupled with inexpensive treatment of the existing fungi with a disinfectant and moldicide application. MII always considers demolition as the last option.
